Welcome to Hopewell Animal Hospital, where your pet will receive the finest professional health care. The practice was started in 1950 by Dr. Schulhof and was purchased by Dr. Maxwell in 1980. It has been owned and operated by the Maxwell Family since that time. We continue to offer individualized care with a family atmosphere.
The staff at Hopewell Animal Hospital will provide your pet with the very best in care.
Dr. Michael Harrison is a graduate of North Carolina State University and has served as a veterinarian at our hospital for over 20 years.
Dr. Jodie Coutts received her degree from Ohio State University's College of Veterinary Medicine and has practiced since 1991.
Dr. Heather Casey received her degree from Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She worked in corporate medicine for two years and has been in private practice for 12 years.
Jan McMillen, our licensed veterinary technician, completed her degree at Blue Ridge Community College in 1986.
We encourage you to call our office with any questions concerning the care of your pet. We’ll be glad to refer to your pet’s records and provide current health care information. Our qualified staff will walk you through any step of the process so that you will be fully informed and able to make the best decision for your pet.
Hopewell Animal Hospital knows how much you care about your pets and the importance of taking care of them. We are a full-service facility and provide veterinary services, surgery(see below for specific surgical procedures), microchipping, dental care, boarding, grooming, and cremation services. We also have an on-site lab and pharmacy to provide for your pets' needs in a more timely manner. We sell flea and tick control products, heartworm prevention products, and prescription pet foods.
At Hopewell Animal Hospital, our boarding services are top-quality, and your pet will feel right at home. We now have a boarding suite with expanded space, outdoor runs and a fenced, grassy yard for your loved ones to play in. Bring your pets to see Esther Armstrong, who has been the kennel manager at our hospital for over 20 years. Esther will take excellent care of your special friend when you need to be away!
Hopewell Animal Hospital offers grooming services with Roberta Cook and Ariel Smith. Roberta has over 30 years experience and Ariel has been grooming professionally for one year but has many years of experience. Both provide services for all breeds.
